Editor's Note

Welcome to the fourth issue of QC Magazine. The main subject is color. Colors can be defined, printed and attract the audience in different ways. But their correct definition at the time of design is very important and can change all production steps. You have heard many times that the colors are different when displayed and printed, but what is the reason for this difference? In this edition, some of these reasons are examined. One of the most important topics is color separation of images, which a part of the magazine is dedicated to. Also, color profiles can have a great impact at the time of printing, and part of the articles depends on them. In this edition, we also note that designers must be aware of issues that occur during printing, Logistics & production so that quality control can be done properly. 3- The role of color profiles in accurate printing

In the Prepress stage, you can use Color Profiles specialized to define the amount of Dot Gain, Black Ink Limit and even Total Ink Limit. Definition and change in each of these sections depend on the type of printing and the production process. In a step of advanced printing monitoring, you can also define the ink of the printing device according to the standards on the color profile. With this process, color profiles can help a lot to improve the quality of production during Prepress stage. But first you need to know some specific rules. These rules which are very important although seem simple, can make the role of color profiles more effective at the time of printing.

4- Strong emotions included - Part two

Printing has the ability to create strong connections by adding elements that turns a wannabe product to a memorable must have item. Studies have shown that when something feels as good as it looks, a larger portion of our brain is switched on and we become more likely to buy it, again and again.v Holding a book whose cover smells of leather created with scented ink or having the touching of wood thanks to a coating, or even a postcard with embossed or happy glowing elements, the buyer is engaged with those pieces at a deeper neurological level. Creating a memorable experience is important for the success of a product and the commitment of the consumer to it.

5- Production process for designers

This is one of the topics that you may be wondering about! Do you, as a graphic designer, need to know about the process from production to printing?! Is it the job of the graphic designers to set the file in the Q.C. stage? Graphic designing is defined by titles such as design, ideation, creativity, software, color harmony and even perspective, but production, printing, standardization and prepress are not discussed as often. Has the definition of graphic design been wrong from the beginning of history, or should the classical definitions change to the attitudes of the modern world?
