Implementation Guidelines

* Monitor calibration is essential for accurately proofing, confirming, and managing the final color appearance.
* For print stability, black density above 50% should be validated using established industry color standards.
* The final material (substrate) significantly affects the print density and trapping of black and primary color combinations.
* LAB, HEXA, and RGB values in the color table represent the closest possible equivalents to the defined CMYK print code.

Color Management Workflow

* For CMYK codes, PSO Coated v3 FOGRA51 profile should be used.
* RGB codes are more accurate for checking on a monitor with sRGB IEC.
* The amount of color difference based on ΔE CIE2000  - D50/2° is adaptable.

Table Terminology Glossary

* CMYK: Four-process color model (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black) used for subtractive printing.
* TIC: Maximum permitted ink coverage (percent) calculated as the sum of all CMYK components in a specific print condition.
* PANTONE: The closest Pantone spot color equivalent to the corresponding CMYK code.
* LAB: Device-independent color space (Lab*) defining the measured color location for accurate spectrophotometric adjustment.
* RGB: The closest additive three-color equivalent (Red, Green, Blue) for accurate on-screen representation.
* HEXA: The hexadecimal code equivalent, commonly used for digital representation on web and software interfaces.
* LRV: Light Reflectance Value; the measured percentage of visible and usable light reflected from the printed surface.
* ICOLOR: The unique identification code assigned to each color within the iCOLOR™ archive.
