Halftone is the critical element and visual result of printing that creates the illusion of continuous tone and is the foundation of commercial lithography. Halftone participates in the Screening process and plays a main role in defining the final print resolution.
In AM Screening technique, the quality of each Halftone dot is entirely dependent on its composing checkerboard cell (Halftone Cell). Each pixel in this grid is the Microdot (laser dot) that the CTP device creates, and the final dot size is determined by the accumulation of these microdots within the cell. The final print result (Halftoning) depends on the precise control of all these stages.
