Preventing Delamination in High Humidity Packaging

How can we prevent Delamination in packaging exposed to high temperature and humidity environments?

Packaging exposed to highly fluctuating temperature or humidity conditions is more susceptible to Delamination due to the differential expansion and contraction of the component layers. This environmental stress gradually weakens the adhesive bond, leading to layer separation in storage or during consumption. This issue is particularly critical for frozen products or microwavable packaging.

To prevent delamination high humidity packaging, adhesives with superior temperature and moisture resistance must be selected. Additionally, the polymeric layers should be chosen carefully so their coefficients of thermal expansion (CTE) are as close as possible. Routine inspections of the bond strength on samples tested under simulated environmental conditions are necessary to maintain your brand's quality reputation.
